Turn raw steel into a functional piece of art. This class is designed for absolute beginners to learn the core skills of the "blacksmith’s alphabet."

What You’ll Craft

The Taper: Hammer square stock into a refined, graceful point.
The Scroll: Shape a decorative curl using the anvil horn.
The Twist: Add a classic architectural detail to the stem.
The Punch: Use heat and force to create a mounting hole without a drill.

Safety First ️

Blacksmithing is exhilarating but requires focus. We start every session with a mandatory safety briefing covering:

Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Safe handling of hot steel and forge management.
Correct hammer technique to prevent fatigue and injury.
Maintaining a "clear floor" for a safe workspace.

About the Instructor:

Marc Steenbergh has been an artistic blacksmith for 10 years and is the owner/ Blacksmith of Warrior Forge Blacksmith Shop located on the campus of Lowe Mill A&E in Huntsville, AL. Warrior Forge specializes in ornamental blacksmithing, commission pieces, and blacksmith experiences and classes. Warrior Forge uses traditional techniques while utilizing both traditional and modern equipment. Marc is a husband, father, grandfather, and retired Army Veteran. The "Drop-off": Master the half-face blow to create a clean shoulder at the anvil's edge.
